Hamrun Spartans sign Nigerian midfielder Jack Ipalibo
Welcome, Jack Ipalibo
Ħamrun Spartans FC are delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian midfielder Jack Ipalibo. A dynamic and experienced midfielder, Jack arrives in Malta after competing at a high level throughout his career, bringing energy, quality and versatility to the heart of the Spartans’ squad. Born in Port Harcourt, the 28-year-old came through Nigeria’s renowned Diamond Football Academy — the same setup that produced Samuel Chukwueze — before moving to Europe with Villarreal. From there he built a well-travelled career across Spain, Norway, Greece, Ukraine, Hungary and Portugal, including more than 100 appearances in Norway’s top flight with Strømsgodset. He joins the Spartans fresh from a remarkable campaign with SCU Torreense, where he was part of the squad that stunned Sporting CP to win the 2025/26 Taça de Portugal — the first second-division side ever to lift the trophy in its 88-year history. Standing at 1.87m and operating in central or defensive midfield, his ability to influence the game in both defensive and attacking phases will provide an important asset as we continue to strengthen our team for the challenges that lie ahead. We are excited to welcome Jack to the Spartans family and look forward to seeing him on the pitch. Jack, welcome to Hamrun. 🔴⚫ #HamrunSpartans
