Points Shared in Top Four Battle
Ħamrun Spartans and Sliema Wanderers battled to a 1-1 draw in a tense and entertaining match at the National Stadium, with both sides now sitting on 25 points as the race for the Final Four goes down to the wire.
Sliema took the lead early in the second half through Vito Plut, who calmly slotted past the onrushing Bonello after a smart pass from captain Steve Pisani.
But Ħamrun responded just six minutes later. A cross from Ryan Camenzuli found Joseph Mbong, who nodded it into the path of Raphael Lopes Silva. The forward made no mistake, heading the ball home to make it 1-1.
Lopes Silva came close to scoring a winner shortly after, hitting the woodwork with a powerful effort. Both goalkeepers, Bonello and Emeka, delivered key saves to keep the score level in the closing minutes.
The result means both teams must now rely on other results in the final round to secure a place in the Final Four.
Final Score:
Sliema Wanderers 1 – 1 Ħamrun Spartans
