Honouring a Spartan Icon: Joe Brincat
Before today’s UEFA Conference League match against Lausanne, Ħamrun Spartans will be honouring one of their greatest ever players — Joe Brincat. ⚫️🔴
A product of Ħamrun Liberty, Brincat made his debut for Ħamrun Spartans at the age of 16 in 1986. The midfielder played 153 matches and scored 39 goals in the red and black shirt. During his time with the Spartans, he won three league titles, four FA Trophies, and five Super Cups.
Joe Brincat represented Malta at international level between 1987 and 2004, earning 103 caps and scoring six goals. He became only the third Maltese player to reach the milestone of 100 international appearances.
Winner of the MFA Player of the Year award in 1993 and recently named among the MFA’s All-Time Best XI, Joe Brincat remains a true legend of Ħamrun Spartans and Maltese football.
