Heads High, Spartans – You Made Us Proud

Ħamrun Spartans’ hopes of a domestic treble came to an end on Tuesday evening after a 2-1 defeat to Hibernians in the MeridianBet FA Trophy semi-final.

Despite a strong second-half performance and a goal from Joseph Mbong in the 58th minute, the Spartans couldn’t recover from two first-half blows: a close-range finish by Jurgen Degabriele and a penalty conversion by Lucas Villela.

The team showed resilience and fought until the final whistle, but it wasn’t enough on the day. Ħamrun finished the match with 10 men following a late red card to Ognjen Bjelicic.

👏 Prior to kickoff, the team proudly continued their Ħamrun Ħanin initiative in support of guide dogs for the visually impaired—a reminder that football is more than a game.

We thank our players, coaches, and fans for their unwavering passion and support. On to the next chapter, with heads held high. 🖤❤️

Final Score:
